Hedge Pruning Tips
- Prune early and often.
- Allowing plants to grow tall quickly and pruning later will lead to a sparse hedge.
- Regular light cuts keep hedges tidy and prevent them getting out of hand.
- Overgrown hedges are more expensive to prune and are difficult to bring back to the originally intended height, width and standard.
- Evergreen formal hedges should be pruned two to four times per year.
- Conifers such as leylandii will soon revert back to tree if not kept in check.
